ISO Certification
For
over
a
century
the
founding
principle
behind
Hederman
Brothers
has
remained
the
same.
We
insist
on
the
highest
standard
of
quality.
We
know
that
we
are
not
judged
by
our
past
accomplishments,
but
by
what
we
do
today.
We
know
that
registration
and
adherence
to
a
quality
standards
system
is
not
only
a
requirement
for
doing
business
with
many
corporations
and
government
agencies,
but
also
makes
good
business
sense.
With
this
in
mind,
Hederman
Brothers
was
registered
to
ISO
9001:1994
Quality
Standards
in
August
of
1999,
becoming
the
first
and
only
commercial
printing
company
in
Mississippi
to
do
so.
The
ISO
9001:2000
Standards
Series
establishes
uniform
systems
for
quality
management,
thus
insuring
customer
confidence
and
continuous
improvement
to
company
processes.
Hederman
Brothers’
quality
system
has
five
tiers
of
documentation;
they
are
described
below.
- Quality
Assurance
Manual
states
our
ISO
Quality
System
policy
and
documents
management
commitment
to
support
the
policy.
-
Quality
Assurance
Procedures
exhibit
compliance
to
the
twenty
elements
of
ISO
9001:2000.
-
Standard
Operating
Procedures
control
all
production
activities.
-
Operating
Instructions
support
the
procedures.
-
Objective
evidence
of
compliance
to
the
elements
of
ISO
is
gathered
using
forms,
checklists,
surveys,
and
various
reports.
Throughout
the
production
process
a
series
of
checks
and
balances
insures
that
the
job
is
produced
to
the
customers’
specifications.
From
the
initial
job
quote
to
shipping,
agreements
and
activities
are
documented.
The
sales
staff
must
show
“proof”
that
the
quote
was
communicated
to
the
customer
and
that
the
customer
agreed
to
proceed
before
beginning
any
project.
All
of
prepress,
including
the
design
department,
completes
quality
control
checklists,
raises
any
concerns
and
resolves
them
before
forwarding
the
project
to
the
next
department.
Before
plating
the
project,
a
proof
must
be
approved
by
the
customer.
Upon
entering
the
press
room,
the
pressman
documents
that
he
has
double
checked
the
plates,
press,
and
stock.
Once
the
make-ready
has
been
completed,
the
pressroom
supervisor,
customer,
or
sales
representative
approves
a
press
sheet
for
color
before
the
job
is
run
in
its
entirety.
Several
other
quality
control
checks
are
performed
and
recorded
during
and
after
the
press
run.
As
the
press
run
is
completed,
skid
tags
are
paired
with
finished
product
to
signify
their
disposition.
Skid
tags
are
color
coded
for
easy
identification
and
take
over
as
the
quality
control
checklist
throughout
the
remaining
bindery
and
shipping
activities. |
